Economics

Economics is one of the six elective subjects in the Personal, Social and Humanities Education (PSHE) Key Learning. The study of economics helps students to understand the human world through enquiring into how resources are usedto serve individuals and society. It also contributes to the development of critical thinking and decision-making skills, which arecrucial for the all-round development of students and, in particular, their development as life-long learners and responsible citizens.

 

Main concerns

 
Knowledge: 
1.1 to redesign lesson activities to let students grab knowledge more easily according to their learning styles
1.2 to unleash students’ potential by formulating plans for enrichment and remediation

Skill:

1.3 to develop students’ application skill in answering current affairs related questions and skill of coping with MCQs
1.4 to promote self-directed learning through I.T. and reading

Value:

1.5 to arouse students’ sense of caring to the small and exploited farmers in developing countries
