Class Structure and Language Policy

HLC adopts English as the medium of instructions for all subjects except Chinese Language, Citizenship, Economics and Society, Citizenship and Social Development,  Chinese History and Chinese Literature. To enable our students to become biliterate and trilingual, we especially adopt Putonghua as the medium of instructions in S.1-S.2 Chinese Language.

HLC adopts the academic structure with three years of junior and three years of senior secondary education. There are five streams from Secondary 1 to Secondary 6, with no more than 33 students per class.

We carefully streamed students into classes to cater for learners’ diversity. Students are further streamed into different sets for junior Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics.
